'Escape The Undertaker' Netflix Director Reveals Fight Scenes Had To Be Toned Down

The interactive movie hit Netflix last month

The director of the Netflix Special 'Escape The Undertaker' has revealed the production had to tone down the fight scenes between the Deadman and The New Day to ensure the final movie was suitable for the desired age demographic.

WWE released a Netflix-exclusive interactive film in November that saw viewers help Kofi Kingston, Big E and Xavier Woods navigate The Undertaker's haunted mansion and try to capture the power of the urn.

The director of the special, Ben Simms, has now admitted that some 'great' moments had to be cut from the film because they would not have been suitable for the targeted young audience.

Speaking to Jeff Ames of Coming Soon, Simms said: ""I really enjoyed choreographing and shooting the fight scene. Having characters that are essentially their own stunt doubles was such a luxury. We had an incredible stunt team working in conjunction with the performers that knew their capabilities and how to push those.

"As a result of the timing between choices and the age demographic, we ended up really having to tone down some of the fight and lost some great moments to time… Hopefully, someday there will be a version of the full sequence."
