EVP Of Live Events Exits WWE

WWE EVP of Live Events exits the company

WWE’s EVP of Live Events has departed the company.

Per a report from PWInsider, John Porco exited the company in February 2024, ending a 25-year association with the company.

Porco joined WWE in 1999 as a public relations coordinator, before transitioning into the live events department in 2002. Porco would become EVP of Live Events in 2022, and since exiting the role it is believed the position has been filled by former WWE Senior Vice President of Live Event Marketing Justin Scalise.

The live events department has been described as one of the most important in WWE, with former WWE backstage figure and former WCW President Eric Bischoff claiming it’s ‘about as close of a direct connection that you can get on the pulse of the audience’.

Since officially merging with UFC under the TKO umbrella, several notable backstage staff have departed WWE, with Jen Pepperman subsequently landing in All Elite Wrestling as Vice President of Content Development. Elsewhere, on-screen figures such as The Bump’s Matt Camp, and former colour commentator Kevin Patrick have also departed WWE, but unlike Pepperman, both Camp and Patrick were released from their contracts.
