Exclusive: Finn Bálor Details Talent He Wants To Work With In WWE NXT UK
Finn Bálor talks exclusively to Cultaholic's Tom Campbell
Finn Bálor has offered further details on his desire to make the switch to NXT UK earlier this year, and spoken about some of the names he would most like to work with on WWE's United Kingdom brand.
Bálor revealed last month that he had raised the idea with WWE higher ups about jumping over to NXT UK after his time on the main NXT brand was done, but the office determined that the Irishman would instead once again be appearing on Friday Night SmackDown.
Speaking exclusively to Cultaholic's Tom Campbell, he said: "It wasn’t necessarily on a temporary basis. I’m very interested in the idea of challenging myself against different performers. I’ve been on NXT, I’ve been on Raw and I’ve been on SmackDown. I’d been back to NXT and I felt like the next territory I wanted to experience fully was NXT UK.
"Obviously the office had some different ideas about that and they said ‘maybe there’s a point in time where we can do that’, but right now it was decided that I would return to SmackDown. I’m obviously very happy to be back on SmackDown but a run on NXT UK is very appealing to me."
Prior to the COVID-19 Pandemic, Bálor appeared to be building to a match with then NXT UK Champion WALTER, a rivalry that The Prince is keen to revisit in the future.
Bálor also indicated he would love to work with Jordan Devlin, Rampage Brown and Naom Dar during a potential run in the UK.
He continued: "First and foremost, WALTER. I kind of feel like we were getting towards that match at the beginning of the Pandemic, before international travel got shut down. That’s one.
"Jordan Devlin is someone I’d love to face again. Naom Dar is someone I’d love to face again. Sha Samuels is someone I’d love to face for the first time. A-Kid, I think has tremendous potential. There’s a whole host of guys out there that are doing fantastic work. NXT UK is in good hands.
"Rampage, I know, has been doing this for just as long as I have. He’s got the experience, he’s got the look, he’s got the charisma and he’s got the ability. For me, he’s someone who could seamlessly make the transition to Raw or SmackDown when required. He’s someone who I would love to be in the ring with."
