Former WWE NXT star Wolfgang has revealed how The Rock jokingly stole an idea he had for the main event of WrestleMania 40 night one.

The Rock teamed with Roman Reigns against Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins in the headline match of night one of WrestleMania XL and Gallus were brought in to help Dwayne Johnson prepare for the match, with the faction training with The Rock in Los Angeles.

After a minor falling out over how The Rock was going to reach LA which caused them to miss a day of preparation, Johnson and Gallus spent two days running through the Hollywood star's spots in the tag team match along with Michael Hayes and Bobby Roode. This saw Wolfgang substitute for Roman Reigns, while the Coffey brothers were Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins.

At one point in the match, The Rock was put through the announce table with a Rock Bottom from Cody Rhodes. Speaking exclusively with Cultaholic's Tom Campbell, Wolfgang explained The Rock was having some difficulty with the spot as he wanted to avoid doing a do-si-do to get in position for Cody. This prompted Wolfgang to think of a way to do the spot without the do-si-do, at which point The Rock repeated what Wolfgang said word for word, just in front of the Seven Bucks Productions cameras.

"There was one spot in particular, and I'm going to get this story out there. The Rock, he's pretending where on this table, if I take you back to The Rock going through the table spot," Wolfgang began.

"I explained it and then Rock, the big cheeky b*stard, repeated what I said word for word. I went, 'Correct.' And he went, 'Yeah, now I've got it on camera me saying it so it looks like my idea.' Mark and Joe too, they had input into the match and it was wild sitting at home watching it with my dad going, 'Watch this bit. This is what's gonna happen. That was me, I did that,'" he continued.

"People can believe it if they want, the producers can get annoyed at me for telling the story but that was my input into the WrestleMania main event. Stopping The Rock from doing a little silly do-si-do."

While they were there for work purposes, Wolfgang noted The Rock was jovial and engaged in banter with Gallus, including having a laugh about Wolfgang's struggles with telling Americans his real first name of Barry in his Scottish accent.

"Being over here and having to say to Americans, 'Barry.' There was a guy who worked with me for six months who thought my name was Paddy. So it's been a challenge just telling people my name, I have to say it with an [American] accent for them. So I've introduced myself to Big DJ and the next day he's came in and he says, 'Oh, I've told my wife about you. I've told my wife I met Barry', and he says it in a thick Scottish accent. So he was having a laugh with us about that kind of stuff. He was humble, he was down to Earth, and he seemed to enjoy his time with us as much as we enjoyed our time with him," Wolfgang added.
