EXCLUSIVE: Les Battersby Wants To Batter Ken Barlow In Pro Wrestling Match

Les Battersby vs. Ken Barlow?!

Could we see a titanic clash on the United Kingdom independent wrestling scene?

Actor Bruce Jones, who famously portrayed Les Battersby in Coronation Street, will make his pro wrestling debut next year at Sovereign Pro Wrestling's 'It's Dark and Hell is Hot' on February 18, 2024 at the Trinity Sports Centre in Manchester, England.

What exactly Battersby will be doing on the show is unclear but he did exclusively reveal to Cultaholic Wrestling's Tom Campbell that he won't be wearing a mankini.

The announcement appears to have given Battersby a taste for pro wrestling, though, as he confirmed the one person he would like to batter inside a pro wrestling ring is Bill Roache, who still plays Ken Barlow on Coronation Street.

"Bill Roache. He was a really good friend of mine, Bill. He really was," Bruce Jones told Cultaholic Wrestling.

Jones played Les Battersby on the British soap opera between 1997 and 2008. Battersby left Weatherfield to go on tour with ZZ Top O' the Morning, a tribute band for ZZ Top.
