EXCLUSIVE: Savio Vega Shocked By Reaction To His WWE Backlash Return
It was Savio's first appearance before WWE fans in over two decades
Former WWE star Savio Vega expected a strong reaction to his return at this past weekend's Backlash, but even he was taken aback by the level of noise that greeted his appearance.
Speaking to Cultaholic Wrestling about the experience of performing at the premium live event in Puerto Rico, Vega said:
"That was so, so…I don't even know how to describe it. We know, of course, by fact that the fans in Puerto Rico will have a good reaction when Carlito and me come in, because that was the secret, you know? But the explosion when they see my face next to Rey Mysterio and Bad Bunny, my God. I mean, I was in shock to be honest. I was like 'Wow…wow'. The biggest pop of the night, that's what the crew says".
Savio made his first WWE appearance in over two decades as part of The Undertaker's retirement ceremony at Survivor Series 2020. However, that event took place behind closed doors in the Thunderdome due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Vega also revealed that his Backlash appearance was the brainchild of Bad Bunny and Damian Priest.
