After sporadically working together in recent years around the Royal Rumble, the relationship between TNA Wrestling and WWE reached another level in recent weeks as TNA Knockouts World Champion Jordynne Grace made a surprise appearance on NXT and was revealed to be Roxanne Perez's challenger for the NXT Women's Title at Battleground.

That match went down on Sunday, June 9 and involved another crossover, this time with TNA's Ash By Elegance, while the likes of Gail Kim, Jonathan Gresham, and TNA President Anthony Cicone were also in attendance at Battleground. The crossover between WWE NXT and TNA is expected to continue in the coming weeks and recent reports from Fightful Select have noted that NXT talents are interested in working with the likes of Josh Alexander, Joe Hendry, and Leon Slater from TNA.

That interest, at least in Leon Slater's case, is mutual and the TNA star exclusively revealed to Cultaholic Wrestling's Tom Campbell that he would be interested in matches with Je'Von Evans and Trick Williams in NXT.

"It is extremely, extremely cool to have my name thrown up in this conversation. I've been trying not to get too excited over it because it is just a rumour, it is just a report, there's no concrete sayings as of yet, but I like to think there's no smoke without fire. For me to be named is very cool, especially in the position I am now where I'm on TNA but I'm not the highest on the totem pole. I'm certainly not on the level of a Maclin or a Santana or a Josh Alexander, who I know has been named as well. So for me to be in the position I am and still being spoken of highly by people on that side is very cool and I hope we do get to explore what the Prohibited Portal looks like for me, for sure," Slater said.

After being asked about possible dream matches, Slater added: "The one I've been seeing on socials a lot is me and Je'Von Evans. I think even before Je'Von got signed we were being compared as kind of like two parallels on other sides of the pond. We're both young, we both carry ourselves with this confidence, this kind of attitude. So I think me and Je'Von would be a very interesting matchup.

"Other than him, obviously the main man Trick Williams is someone I would like to mix it up with. As far as the main roster goes, I have to say AJ Styles, man, especially being on this side representing TNA now. I'd be super, super interested to mix it up with AJ, who really put TNA on the map."

Leon Slater has been a part of TNA since October 2023 and he challenged Mustafa Ali for the X-Division Championship on the May 30 episode of TNA IMPACT. The 19-year-old is also one of the top stars on the UK independent wrestling scene and he is the reigning NORTH Wrestling Champion.

Slater was recently the subject of the Watch The Lights: A NORTH Wrestling Film documentary. Fans can watch the documentary at Tyneside Cinema in Newcastle upon Tyne.
