WWE NXT presented their latest special event on Sunday night as Battleground emanated from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The UFC Apex is a notably small venue and this posed some issues for WWE as the ringside floor was noticeably narrower than a typical NXT taping from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. According to WrestleVotes, this led to unhappiness amongst a handful of talents who worked Battleground.
"While thankfully nothing came of it, I'm told a handful of Superstars were unhappy with the floor spacing around the ring last night at the UFC Apex for Battleground. It was noticeably tighter than at standard WWE/NXT events," WrestleVotes tweeted.
Featured matches at NXT Battleground included Trick Williams vs. Ethan Page for the NXT Championship, Roxanne Perez vs. Jordynne Grace for the NXT Women's Title, and a six-woman Ladder Match to determine the first-ever NXT Women's North American Champion.
WWE and UFC have collaborated since the two companies merged under the Endeavor-owned TKO Group Holdings in September 2023. There were a number of UFC fighters in the crowd at NXT Battleground and one of those in attendance expressed interest in working for WWE, according to Fightful Select.
