A UFC fighter might end up wrestling for WWE.
According to False Finish, UFC's Michael Chandler was at the WWE Performance Center on Monday and the MMA fighter was working out in the ring at the WWE training facility. Why Chandler was at the WWE Performance Center is unknown as of the time of writing, however.
Michael Chandler has previously appeared on WWE TV, cutting a promo on Conor McGregor from the front row on the February 19, 2024 episode of Monday Night Raw. The promo was done ahead of their planned UFC fight, which ultimately never happened.
Chandler is a big fan of professional wrestling and he noted to Chris Van Vliet in October 2025 that a WWE run "intrigued" him.
"I think it intrigues me. I think it's a lot of fun. I do think I would enjoy it. I think there would be some intrigue and interest on both sides. Spending some time with Sheamus and a couple of other friends I have. Diamond Dallas Page has been a friend of mine for a very, very long time also. What's really cool about him too, which would be kind of similar to my story, because he always said, 'My career didn't take off till I was 40,' because he came in as a manager. I think that's one of the cooler things about the sport as well. It’s like a lot of mature men, the sport of mixed martial arts is kind of a younger man’s game, but not really," Chandler stated.
"We can get into that a little bit. I think young is awesome, and your body feels great, but you haven't quite matured enough to get to that, not old man strength, but kind of that maturity of your body, and I think you don't really hit that until 32-33, so I'm just a fan of the sport. Love to go to the live events, obviously, love to watch it on TV. Obviously, now WWE is now on ESPN at the time of this. So it’s pretty cool, man, a lot of fun to watch."
Michael Chandler has been a part of UFC since 2020, but the 40-year-old has only won two fights since signing with the company and he hasn't won any fights since 2022. He is currently on a four-fight losing streak.
Prior to signing with UFC, Chandler competed in Bellator and he is a three-time Bellator Lightweight Champion.
WWE and UFC have close links, being owned by the same parent company in TKO Group Holdings following the WWE-UFC merger in September 2023. That merger resulted in a WWE shareholders lawsuit which ended earlier this year with an out-of-court settlement of $147.5 million in favour of the shareholders, with WWE and TKO covering $105 million and Vince McMahon agreeing to pay $42.5 million.
