February 28 Show Will Be Sting's "Final" AEW Dynamite

Wednesday will be Sting's last on AEW Dynamite on TBS

In just over a week’s time, Sting will be wrestling in his final ever match when he and Darby Allin defend the AEW World Tag Team Championships against The Young Bucks at the Revolution 2024 PPV on March 3 in Greensboro, North Carolina.

This won’t just be Sting’s retirement from the ring, but it looks as though he will no longer be on AEW programming full stop, not even in the corner of close ally Darby Allin. In a post on X, AEW’s Tony Khan announced that on the go-home edition of AEW Dynamite on February 28 in Huntsville, Alabama, that Sting will be appearing on TBS for the last time.

“This Wednesday, co-holder of the @AEW World Tag Team Championship @Sting makes his final appearance on TBS after 36 iconic years on top!

He may stop by in the future to say hello to the @AEW fans from time to time, but after next week, we all have to face the reality, it's over, Sting is retiring after #AEWRevolution and his last ever appearance as a professional wrestler on TBS is this Wednesday in Huntsville.”

Given that Sting is in his mid-60s, it makes sense that the end of his in-ring career will coincide with the end of his on-screen role in AEW going forwards.
