Finn Bálor Reveals The Reason For His Return To WWE SmackDown

The Prince returned to the blue brand on Friday

Finn Bálor has made clear he has returned to WWE Friday Night SmackDown for one reason, and one reason only - to win Championships.

The Prince made his return to WWE's blue brand this past Friday in front of the live crowd, interrupting a Sami Zayn tirade before dropping the former Intercontinental Champion with a Coup de Grâce.

The return to SmackDown marks the first time Bálor has appeared on the WWE main roster since losing to 'The Fiend' Bray Wyatt at SummerSlam 2019, with the Irishman going back to NXT for over 18 months.

During that time, Bálor reclaimed the NXT Championship. Having lost the belt to Karrion Kross, his return to SmackDown is in order to hunt for more Championship gold.

Speaking on Talking Smack, Balor said: ""Obviously there's always a plan. I went to NXT, I became NXT Champion. I moved to Raw, became the first Universal Champion. Became two-time Intercontinental Champion, went back to NXT and won the NXT Championship.

So, the reason that I'm here on SmackDown is to win Championships.

"Obviously, I'm eternally grateful for the fans' support throughout the pandemic. My message, 'Buckle your seatbelts, we're going for a ride.'"
