Finn Balor Suffered Injury Ahead Of WWE WrestleMania 39

Finn Balor suffered a nasty gash on the top of his head during a Hell in a Cell match with Edge at WrestleMania 39 which required 14 stapes, though that wasn’t the only issue that Balor had when it came to this encounter. 

In an Instagram post, Balor revealed that he was side-lined with a calf tear just a few weeks before his match with Edge, which could have put the whole thing in serious doubt. Balor stated; 

“On March 10th Ep of Smackdown I sustained a grade 2 calf tear. 

Normal recovery time is estimated at 6-8 weeks. 

Hold my beer! 

With just 3 weeks & 2 days to Wrestlemania WWE medical team ‘threw the kitchen sink at it’ & with some careful planning, long days of rehab and a lot of swear words we made it back in time with a day or two spare!

Balor wasted little time making his way back to WWE television after both these injuries, appearing on the April 7 episode of SmackDown in a promo segment alongside The Judgment Day.
