Report: Shane McMahon Undergoes Surgery Following WWE WrestleMania 39 Injury

Shane McMahon Has Reportedly Had Surgery After Tearing Quad At WrestleMania 39

One of the more bizarre moments of WrestleMania 39 saw a returning Shane McMahon follow in his father’s footsteps by tearing his quad live on PPV. McMahon was introduced by Snoop Dogg to be a surprise impromptu opponent for The Miz, but just a few seconds in, an awkward landing on a leapfrog led to McMahon collapsing onto the mat.

He was taken from the ring, and the match was completed on the fly by Snoop Dogg, in what was certainly a “WrestleMania moment”. According to reports from PWInsider Elite, McMahon underwent surgery in Birmingham, Alabama to help with the unfortunate quadricep tear that he suffered.

The report further went on to note that McMahon had since returned home and had begun with his recovery. It isn’t yet clear if McMahon’s return was meant as a quick and fun one-off, or whether he was set for any sort of run on-screen. Either way, he won’t be stepping back in the ring any time soon following his injury.
