Former AEW Talent Considering Retirement Following Release

A former AEW talent is contemplating retirement following release

All Elite Wrestling recently carried out a series of talent releases, the first time in AEW history that multiple talents have been relieved of their contracts at one time.

One of those talents was Anthony Henry, with the WorkHorseman exiting AEW after nearly three years with the company. Taking to X/Twitter, Henry speculated upon his future in the pro wrestling industry, posting the following:

“The amount of support I am receiving during this very difficult time is amazing, and I appreciate all of it. I don't know what is next for me. I don't know if wrestling is something I still want to pursue. I am devastated. Regarsless [sic], I am always a #workhorsemen.”

Henry’s WorkHorsemen partner JD Drake replied saying that Henry has 'too much to offer the world of professional wrestling.' Henry has been out of action with a jaw injury, and had been mainly used in Ring of Honor over the past year.

A 20-year veteran, Henry has also wrestled for WWE, appearing in NXT and on 205 Live under the name Asher Hale.

AEW’s roster cuts are believed to have come about as the company is 'currently evaluating their talent roster and making cuts to benefit both the company and the talents.'
