Former IMPACT World Champion's TNA Contract Expiring

World champion's TNA contract set to expire

A former IMPACT World Champion might soon be on their way out of TNA Wrestling.

According to Fightful Select, Steve Maclin's deal with TNA is set to expire in May and there is no word on if the two parties have had talks over a contract extension.

Maclin's deal being up comes at a tumultuous time for TNA Wrestling. The company looked set for a big 2024 following the official return to the 'TNA Wrestling' name at Hard To Kill but Anthem have since fired Scott D'Amore as TNA President and replaced him with Anthony Cicione. The move has left a number of TNA talents very unhappy to the point they sent a letter expressing their frustration to Anthem. Many talents are waiting to see how the situation will be addressed at TNA's upcoming tapings in New Orleans.

Maclin has been a part of IMPACT/TNA since 2021, having joined the promotion following his WWE release. He was quickly established as a top talent and Maclin became IMPACT World Champion at Rebellion 2023, defeating KUSHIDA for the vacant title. He held the belt for 54 days until dropping the IMPACT World Championship to Alex Shelley.

Maclin's wife Deonna Purrazzo had been with TNA for several years. She joined All Elite Wrestling in January 2024
