Former WWE Star Nailz Set To Make First Public Appearance In Decades

The controversial former WWE star has been living in obscurity

Kevin Wacholz - best remembered for his short but controversial run as WWE star Nailz - is set to make his first public appearance in decades, according to PWInsider.

The 65-year-old will be at WrestleCon's Destination Detroit on August 4 and 5 (which will be happening over SummerSlam weekend). Nailz will be the lead guest at the convention and will be available for signings and photo ops.

In addition, Wacholz will work with Highspots on various projects over the course of the next year and will get his own action figure through the Major Bendies line.

A three-hour shoot interview with Wacholz covering his career will be released via Highspots TV in a few weeks.

After debuting in 1982, Wacholz wrestled for territories such as World Class Championship Wrestling, Mid-South Wrestling and the AWA, as well as touring with All-Japan Pro Wrestling.

He debuted as Nailz in 1992 and had a memorable feud with the Big Boss Man. Set to feud with The Undertaker in early 1993, Wacholz was fired after attacking Vince McMahon backstage at a house show on December 14, 1992. He was supposedly upset over the payoff he received for that year's SummerSlam (where he defeated Virgil).

Wacholz sued WWE for wrongful termination (and claimed McMahon sexually assaulted him), with the company subsequently counter-suing him. Both suits were later dropped.

Wacholz last wrestled in 2001, after which he retreated from the public eye.
