Former WWE Superstar Serena Deeb Debuts In AEW

Her first match in three years...

On last night's edition of Dynamite, Thunder Rosa made her in-ring debut in AEW ahead of her match against Hikaru Shida at All Out. Her opponent caught many viewers eyes, however, as it was revealed the NWA World Women's Champion would be going one on one with former WWE Superstar Serena Deeb.

Both women battled back and forth in an evenly fought contest but Rosa ultimately picked up the win with the Thunder Driver.

If Serena will make future appearances in AEW remains to be seen.

Last night was Deeb's first match since she competed in the inaugural Mae Young Classic in 2017. Serena previously wrestled in WWE in 2010 as part of the Straight Edge Society but she was released by the company in August of that year. She went on to compete in Japan, IMPACT Wrestling and on the indie scene in the US before retiring in 2015.

She returned to the ring for the Mae Young Classic in 2017 but she was defeated in the second round by Piper Niven. Soon after, she re-signed with WWE as a Performance Center coach but was let go by on April 15, 2020, as part of the company's cutbacks.
