Report: New Details On WWE NXT Possibly Moving To Another Night

They could have a new permanent home on Tuesday nights...

Over the past three weeks, episodes of NXT have aired unopposed on the USA Network. AEW: Dynamite was initially preempted by TNT's coverage of the NBA Playoffs for August 19 and August 26, but the September 2 and September 9 editions of NXT have also been moved because of the NHL Playoffs.

Running unopposed has been beneficial to the black and gold brand in the ratings as their viewership has increased by 25 percent. The four episodes before August 19 averaged 673,500 viewers, while the last three shows have averaged 842,000.

A report from WrestleVotes noted yesterday that WWE has held discussions in the past month about moving NXT from Wednesday nights permanently. No final decision is expected anytime soon, however.

Fightful Select revealed new details about the possible move last night. They reported the idea has been floated around for the past two months and the USA Network is open to switching nights because they aren't as committed to going head to head with AEW as WWE is, particularly as competing with Dynamite is costing the black and gold brand viewers.
