Fox have moved to distance themselves from rumours suggesting that they are involved in any would-be wrestling promotion that Vince McMahon may or may not be putting together.
The rumour gained steam after Conrad Thompson and Eric Bischoff both mentioned that they heard McMahon was rehiring former WWE executives as well as cameramen with experience shooting wrestling during a recent edition of their 83 Weeks podcast.
Andrew Marchland, a senior writer for The Athletic, moved to dispel rumours that Fox are on board, posting on X:
"There is a report that Vince McMahon might start a wrestling company with Fox as a partner. If McMahon is planning that or not, I don't know, but the Fox part is not true, according to a network spokesman."
Whether McMahon is thinking of launching his own wrestling entity remains to be seen. However, the former WWE CEO will reportedly be involved in a new entertainment company backing and producing films and television projects.
The 79-year-old is still facing legal challenges in the form of former WWE employee Janel Grant's lawsuit against himself, John Laurinaitis and WWE, as well as a lawsuit by former WWE ring boys that also names WWE, TKO and Linda McMahon as defendants.
