We have recently gotten more glimpses at AEW’s debut video game release, with the long-awaited ‘Fight Forever’ seemingly entering its final phases ahead of a yet-unannounced released date.

However, it seems that a major AEW team will not be present in the game on day one, with Fightful Select revealing that FTR have been ‘cut’ from the base game.

The report states that the team of Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler made it to the ‘modelling’ phase of design before being cut, with earlier reports stating that the former AEW Tag team Champions would indeed be included from day one.

When news of the game first made the rounds, it was made clear that the arcade style game would not have a massive sprawling roster like modern day WWE titles, and would instead be somewhere around the 50 mark.

Word is that FTR themselves are not pleased about the cut, as a video game payday is usually a fairly significant bonus. However, despite the fact the ‘Top Guys’ will not be in the game at launch, that doesn’t mean we won’t see them included down the line as part of additional updates or DLC packages.
