FTR's First IWGP Tag Team Title Defence Revealed

When FTR will defend the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Championships for the first time has been revealed.

New Japan Pro-Wrestling announced today that Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler will put their titles on the line at the upcoming Royal Quest II show from London, England, where they will face off with NJPW STRONG Openweight Tag Team Champions Aussie Open. The match will take place on October 1, which is night one of Royal Quest II. 

Aussie Open staked a claim to a title shot at Music City Mayhem on July 30 when they and TJP defeated FTR and Alex Zayne in trios action. Kyle Fletcher and Mark Davis then challenged FTR to a title match, a challenge that was accepted by the champions today.

FTR have been IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions since they won a Three-Way for the gold at the Forbidden Door pay-per-view on June 26 that featured then-champions Jeff Cobb and Great-O-Khan, and Roppongi Vice. FTR are also currently the reigning ROH World Tag Team Champions and AAA World Tag Team Champions.
