GCW Announces Return To Hammerstein Ballroom

Back in January of 2022, GCW hosted ‘The Wrld On GCW’ show from the iconic Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City, New York. A few years back, GCW was regarded as the modern day successor to ECW, so the hype for such an event was huge, especially since the momentum and virality the company was experiencing at the time.

The show had mixed reviews, with much negativity directed towards the likes of outsiders such as Jeff Jarrett and Ruby Soho defeating established fan favourites such as Effy and Allie Katch. Additionally, timing and production issues were prevalent, as the main event was rushed off the air due to the venue curfew. 

GCW are hoping to ‘rewrite history’ as a return to the Hammerstein Ballroom has been officially announced. ‘The People vs. GCW’ event is scheduled for January 19, 2025, and in the video package posted on social media hyping up the show, there are several references made to the failure of the previous event, and a push to rewrite their own history for a successful effort this time around. 

The general sale for the show takes place at 10:00 AM ET, with pre-sale taking place last night on GCW’s Patreon. There are currently no matches announced, but fans could see the likes of AEW star Scorpio Sky, who is set to make his GCW debut this weekend.
