Giovanni Vinci has shared a message of thanks to WWE, following his release from the company.
In his first public comment since his release, Vinci took to his Instagram page to thank WWE and its fans, writing:
"Thank you to the WWE Universe, WWE, and everyone I had the pleasure of working with".
Vinci was one of several WWE stars released this past weekend, with the cuts believed to be related to upcoming NXT main roster call ups.
As well as Vinci, WWE decided to release The Good Brothers (Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows), The Authors of Pain (Akam & Rezar), Paul Ellering, Isla Dawn, Blair Davenport, Sonya Deville, Cedric Alexander and Elektra Lopez.
Vinci made his WWE debut, using his real name Fabian Aichner, in the 2016 Cruiserweight Classic, before being signed to a deal a year later.
Alongside Ludwig Kaiser, he had two runs as NXT Tag Team Champion. After being dropped by Imperium, he re-debuted as a singles performer but only wrestled two televised matches (quick losses to Apollo Crews) before disappearing from TV.
It was reported at the time that some backstage 'hated' the creative for Vinci's re-rebut.
