Giulia To Defend NJPW STRONG Womens Title In Philadelphia

Major STARDOM talent Giulia is set to defend her New Japan STRONG Women's Championship at an upcoming NJPW show in Philadelphia. 

Giulia recently defeated AEW's Willow Nightingale for the title, and will defend it next month in Philadelphia, according to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, who explained:

“One of the New Japan shows in Philadelphia, she will be on the show. That will be her first defence of the New Japan Strong Championship.”

New Japan are set to run two upcoming shows in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on August 19 and 20. The first is named All Star Junior Festival 2023 USA, and the second is the cross-promotional 'Multiverse' show with IMPACT Wrestling, officially named Multiverse United 2 - For Whom the Bell Tolls. 

The initial Multiverse event, named Multiverse of Matches, occurred over WrestleMania weekend in Dallas in 2022, and featured wrestlers from numerous different promotions including New Japan, NWA and AAA. The following year's 'Mania weekend saw Multiverse United, establishing the IMPACT and New Japan theme.

Although it is not yet clear which of the shows Giulia will defend her title on, if she appears at the Multiverse event, we may therefore see a defence against a member of the IMPACT Wrestling roster.
