Giulia Vs. Willow Nightingale Set For NJPW STRONG Independence Day

Giulia will be in action at NJPW STRONG Independence Day

A major match has been made official for the upcoming NJPW STRONG Independence Day pay-per-view.

New Japan Pro-Wrestling have announced that NJPW STRONG Women's Champion Willow Nightingale will put the gold on the line against World Wonder Ring STARDOM's Giulia on night two of Independence Day on July 5. The match came about after Giulia challenged Nightingale to a title match on June 25, with Willow accepting the challenge following her loss to Toni Storm at Forbidden Door later that day.

A preview of the match will take place on night one of Independence Day on July 4. Willow will team with Momo Kohgo against Giulia and her DDM faction mate Thekla.

Willow Nightingale is the inaugural NJPW STRONG Women's Champion, having won the gold at NJPW Resurgence on May 21. Original plans called for Mercedes Moné to win the belt but the former Sasha Banks suffered an injury during her match with Nightingale and she called an audible for Willow to win.

Other matches announced for NJPW STRONG Independence Day include Eddie Kingston vs. KENTA, a Final Death Match between Jon Moxley and El Desperado, and Bishamon vs. Gabriel Kidd & Alex Coughlin over two nights for the NJPW STRONG Openweight Tag Team Titles and IWGP Tag Team Championships.
