Goldberg Clarifies WWE Contract Status
Goldberg last wrestled for WWE at Elimination Chamber 2022
Earlier this year is was reported that Goldberg’s contract with WWE was up, with the former WCW World Champion’s match against Roman Reigns at Elimination Chamber 2022 the last of his deal.
After losing to Reigns in Saudi Arabia, Goldberg hinted that it could have been his last ever match, but in a recent interview with The New York Post, Goldberg revealed he is still under contract with WWE adding that he hasn’t had surgery on a shoulder injury “because you never know when the phone’s gonna ring.”
Goldberg continued; “I’m still waiting for that one [call] to happen one of these days, but I suppose you never retire in the wrestling world until you’re dead, so who knows.”
Goldberg had two major stints in WWE, first from 2003 until 2004, then from 2016 until 2022 on a limited schedule, with WWE using Goldberg as a marquee attraction.
Since his 2016 return Goldberg has wrestled just 12 times, controversially winning the WWE Universal Championship on two occasions.
