GUNTHER Unhappy With Triple Threat Match At WWE WrestleMania 39

GUNTHER will take on Sheamus and Drew McIntyre at WWE WrestleMania 39

GUNTHER was adamant about only having one opponent for the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 39 but Der Ring General didn't get his wish. WWE Official Adam Pearce sanctioned a Triple Threat Match for the gold on SmackDown that will see Drew McIntyre and Sheamus challenge for the title at the Show of Shows.

The booking came about after Sheamus and Drew McIntyre faced off in a number one contender's match on SmackDown, only to be lambasted by GUNTHER when the match looked set to end in a double count-out. Imperium then attacked the Banger Bros from behind to end the match in a no-contest.

Following SmackDown, GUNTHER expressed his unhappiness at the Triple Threat, calling the decision "a disgrace" and claiming Pearce's booking was "covering up his own fault."

"I'll tell you this, I've beaten Sheamus before, twice. So can I beat Drew McIntyre. And come WrestleMania, they will understand what it means when we say the mat is sacred," GUNTHER added.

GUNTHER recently made further history in WWE, passing 281 days as Intercontinental Champion which made him the longest-reigning IC Champ since The Honky Tonk Man's 454-day reign in the 1980s.
