Hangman Page wants Kazuchika Okada’s IWGP World Heavyweight Championship at Forbidden Door
Former AEW World Champion Hangman Page has bounced back from his championship loss to CM Punk at Double or Nothing by challenging for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door.
Page was in action on the June 8 edition of AEW: Dynamite, and after defeating NJPW’s David Finlay, Page took the mic to state his intentions for IWGP gold before saying he wants to face Kazuchika Okada.
There is a chance that Jay White could be in possession of the title by the time Forbidden Door rolls around, as Adam Cole pointed out to Hangman, with the Bullet Club head honcho set to take on ‘The Rainmaker’ for the title at NJPW Dominion on June 12. Cole continued to taunt Hangman on Dynamite after revealing this information, and mentioned how he is on a roll after winning the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament, and that Cole deserves a shot at the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship more than Page.
No matter who is holding the title come Forbidden Door on June 26, it’s looking increasingly likely that the title will be on the line at the historic show.
