Hangman Page's AEW Absence Down To 'Nothing Negative'

Hangman Page's AEW absence not related to anything negative

Following the Revolution pay-per-view, Hangman Page has begun his time off from All Elite Wrestling.

Page challenged Samoa Joe for the AEW World Title at Revolution in a Three-Way that also included Swerve Strickland. Page was unable to win the title, however, tapping out to Samoa Joe's Coquina Clutch, and it emerged following the show that Hangman was set to take time off. The Young Bucks have since announced on AEW Dynamite that Page is indefinitely suspended from The Elite after attacking multiple referees at Revolution.

In an update, Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Page will be taking time off due to a "family related reason" but it is "nothing negative." Meltzer also noted that Page may be a babyface upon his return to TV due to the Young Bucks suspending him without pay.

There is no word on when Page will be back on AEW programming but past reports have noted he may be gone for a few months. The former AEW World Champion was actually touch-and-go for the Revolution pay-per-view due to a personal matter but he was ultimately able to wrestle on the March 3 show.

As part of his possibly returning as a babyface, speculation has suggested Page could link up with Kenny Omega to take on the new Elite of the Young Bucks and Kazuchika Okada.
