Heat On MVP, Frustration With The Hurt Syndicate In AEW

The Hurt Syndicate have been a dominant force since arriving in All Elite Wrestling, but it seems they have rubbed some people up the wrong way, with MVP garnering heat.

The team of Shelton Benjamin and Bobby Lashley have been AEW World Tag Team Champions for over 195 days and have been presented as a nigh unstoppable dominant force. Rumours online suggested that the group’s mouthpiece MVP had been rubbing people the wrong way, and a report from Fightful Select has shed light on this, claiming MVP has garnered heat within the company.

Allegedly, MVP has a noted and vocal dislike of "Speedball" Mike Bailey, with MVP making it known that he did not want Lashley and Benjamin losing to JetSpeed - not that it was officially ever on the cards. It’s apparently not been made clear exactly why MVP dislikes Bailey.

It has also been claimed that there was a pitch to have FTR go on a redemption arc, including a win over The Hurt Syndicate at All In Texas. Again, it has been suggested that The Hurt Syndicate said 'no' to losing to FTR at both All In, and at the upcoming AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door event in London, England.

Whilst The Hurt Syndicate allegedly said no to losing to FTR, it’s believed that MVP would prefer the team to drop the titles to a younger team, with Gates of Agony, The Outrunners, and Private Party reportedly MVP’s personal preferences. It should be noted that Lashley and Benjamin have defeated all three teams.

Where frustration allegedly lies within the AEW locker room - which is said to be on the best footing it has been in years - is that The Hurt Syndicate are ‘heels that do cool moves, beat up everyone, and give fans fives on the way out’. The trio are believed to have years left on their current deals.
