Heel Turn At AEW Dynamite Grand Slam

AEW Dynamite Grand Slam saw a heel turn go down

All Elite Wrestling has a new heel in their midst after a shocking heel turn went down during Dynamite Grand Slam 2023 at New York’s Arthur Ashe Stadium.

Heading in to Dynamite, Le Sex Gods Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara agreed to a singles match for old times' sake, hoping to get out any underlying tension before making a march towards the AEW World Tag Team Championships. At Grand Slam, Jericho would wind up victorious, getting the pin after a pitch-perfect Codebreaker on Guevara as ‘The Spanish God’ was mid-rotation from a top rope Shooting Star Press.

Post-match, Guevara and Jericho hugged it out in the middle of the ring, before Sammy hit Jericho with a low blow, just like Jericho did to Shawn Michaels at WWE WrestleMania XIX. With Jericho laying, Don Callis then came down the ramp to throw his arm around Guevara, suggesting that the former TNT Champion has joined Callis’ family.

Callis later told Renee Paquette that he and Guevara would speak on the upcoming Grand Slam Rampage on September 22, before Daniel Garcia arrived to confront his former tag partner.
