New Japan Pro-Wrestling are expected to be without one of their talents for some time.
Fightful Select has reported that NJPW was expecting HENARE to be out of action for the entirety of 2025 after he suffered an undisclosed injury. HENARE was injured in December 2024 during the World Tag League tournament and he was scheduled to undergo surgery in late December. It is unknown if the surgery was successful.
HENARE was on the receiving end of a push in 2024, holding the NEVER Openweight Championship for 105 days in between Shingo Takagi reigns. HENARE then won the IWGP Tag Team Titles with Great-O-Khan at November's Power Struggle but the United Empire team were forced to vacate the gold due to HENARE's injury. The vacant titles were won by The Young Bucks at Wrestle Dynasty and they have since dropped the belts to Tetsuya Naito and Hiromu Takahashi.
HENARE has been a part of New Japan Pro-Wrestling since 2016. He had the opportunity to sign with WWE in 2024 but HENARE turned down the company.
