Hikaru Shida Wins AEW Women's World Title At Dynamite 200

Dynamite 200 saw Hikaru Shida become the new AEW Women’s World Champion

All Elite Wrestling’s special 200th edition of Dynamite ended on a high, as Hikaru Shida overcame Toni Storm and The Outcasts to lift the AEW Women’s World Championship for a second time.

Shida and Storm main evented Dynamite, and from the kick-off it seemed as though Shida had an uphill battle on her hands, due to the presence of Ruby Soho and Saraya at ringside. The Outcasts would try and bend every rule, but Shida was not giving up, with a capacity crowd cheering her on. Shida overcame attacks from Soho and Saraya, a spray attack and Storm Zero, before getting the win with a backdrop and a high stack pin to win the title for a second time to a thunderous reaction.

A crying Shida then celebrated with the title as Dynamite went off the air, finally able to reign as champion in front of a crowd. Shida’s first run with the title lasted from May 2020 until May 2021, with Shida famously propping the division up in front of minimal fans during the pandemic era.

Storm’s second run with the title comes to an end after 67 days, but something says we’ve not seen the last of Shida vs. The Outcasts.
