Rob Van Dam Makes AEW Debut, Set To Face Jack Perry On Dynamite

Rob Van Dam has arrived to AEW Dynamite to face Jack Perry

Since taking the FTW Championship from HOOK, Jack Perry has set about disrespecting seemingly everyone ever associated with the title, as well as denigrating the name of ECW.

On the August 2 edition of Dynamite, Perry was scheduled to have a face-to-face with former ECW World Champion and current AEW coach Jerry Lynn, but Lynn pulled a surprise out of the bag as he introduced Rob Van Dam to the AEW audience.

RVD made his way to the ring to the sounds of Pantera’s classic ‘Walk’, his original theme music in ECW (and later a cover by Kilgore) and stared down Perry as he made his escape. Perry then attempted a sneak attack with a chair and narrowly avoided eating a Van Daminator before leaving through the crowd, albeit after taking a small child as a human shield.

Rumours of an RVD AEW run had been gathering momentum all week, with it originally believed that ‘The Whole F’n Show’ could take on Perry at All In on August 27, but the two will instead face off in an FTW Rules match on the August 9 edition of AEW Dynamite.
