Hiromu Takahashi's WWE Debut Teased On SmackDown

For the last two weeks on Friday Night SmackDown, Shinsuke Nakamura has been teasing the arrival of a mystery partner who will take his side to do battle with Talla & Tama Tonga of The MFTs, who won back the WWE Tag Team Championships on the August 14 episode, dethroning R-Truth & Damian Priest. On the same episode of the blue brand, Nakamura provided a major clue as to who his partner will be.

After referencing them as a warrior last week, Nakamura got way more specific this time around, referring to this mystery man as “chaos” and a “ticking time bomb” during a vignette. During his time in New Japan Pro Wrestling, Hiromu Takahashi was the man referred to as the “Ticking Time Bomb”. 

Earlier this year it was noted that Takahashi had made his official exit from NJPW, with the expectation being that he would sign with WWE. This promo from Nakamura seems to confirm Takahashi’s arrival and signature with the promotion, which will see him debut straight on the main roster rather than head for a spell in NXT first.
