Hiroshi Tanahashi Thinks Shingo Takagi Can Be A Future IWGP World Heavyweight Champion

Takagi has made a strong impression on The Ace

When fans are asked to name the best wrestlers in the world, Shingo Takagi often comes up in the conversation. Many believe The Dragon has the talent to be a top star in New Japan Pro-Wrestling and Hiroshi Tanahashi is seemingly one of them.

The Ace revealed during a recent interview with Sports Illustrated that he thinks Takagi can be a future IWGP World Heavyweight Champion.

"Takagi has many strong points, but what I will say impresses me particularly is the energy he puts into every single one of his matches. Whether it's against a young guy, a veteran or whoever, he gives his opponent everything he has. I think he could absolutely be IWGP World Heavyweight Champion at some point," Tanahashi stated.

Tanahashi defeated Takagi back in January to capture the NEVER Openweight Championship in a match of the year candidate and The Dragon seemingly made a strong impression on the eight-time IWGP Heavyweight Champion.

Takagi even has the chance to make Tanahashi's comment come true in a couple of weeks when he challenges Will Ospreay for the IWGP World Heavyweight Title at Wrestling Dontaku.
