Hiroshi Tanahashi Vs. Daniel Garcia Confirmed For ROH Supercard Of Honor

Hiroshi Tanahashi will face Daniel Garcia at ROH Supercard of Honor

As much as Daniel Garcia tries to fight it, he can’t deny the fact that he’s a pro wrestler and not a sports entertainer, but regardless of what he markets himself as, Garcia is certainly confident in his abilities, as the JAS member challenged the legendary Hiroshi Tanahashi to a match at Ring of Honor Supercard of Honor XVI on March 31.

Footage of Garcia issuing a challenge to ‘The Ace’ of New Japan made the rounds on social media, and AEW/ROH President Tony Khan quickly made it official, tweeting the following:

“This Friday, 3/31 ROH Supercard of Honor Los Angeles CA. @tanahashi1_100 vs @GarciaWrestling. The former ROH Pure Champion Daniel Garcia has challenged wrestling legend Hiroshi Tanahashi, and NJPW's Ace has accepted the sports entertainer's challenge for THIS Friday at Supercard!”

This will be a first-time meeting between Tanahashi and Garcia, and will mark Tanahashi’s first appearance in an ROH ring since losing to Zack Sabre Jr. at the NJPW/ROH G1 Supercard at Madison Square Garden in 2019.

For Garcia, he will be looking to return to winning ways after suffering defeat at the hands of Adam Cole on the March 29 edition of Dynamite.
