JD McDonagh is set for a stay on the injured list, with the Judgment Day member breaking his ribs and puncturing his lung following a nasty landing on the WWE Raw announce table during an Asai Moonsault spot on January 27.

McDonagh landed on the floor in front of the table but his momentum carried him back into the desk, with his upper back colliding with the lower portion of the desk whilst his neck whipped back over the top. The new Raw desks look much sturdier than those of the past, seemingly giving very little when McDonagh collided with it.

A report from Fightful’s Corey Brennan states that WWE CCO Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque checked on McDonagh ‘multiple times’ after the injury occurred, including after a doctor checked on McDonagh. WWE agent Michael Hayes jokingly asked if the announce desk was okay.

It’s believed that McDonagh will be out of action ‘for a couple of months’, with McDonagh tweeting his diagnosis after being evaluated at a local hospital. Despite his injury, McDonagh finished the match, a tag bout pitting himself and Dominik Mysterio against World Tag Team Champions The War Raiders.
