Hulk Hogan's widow Sky Daily has denied Ric Flair's claim that "street drugs" resulted in Hulk Hogan's death.
Daily issued the denial to TMZ and also denied that Hogan turned to "street drugs" after Hogan's doctor stopped prescribing him pain medication. Daily said Flair was either misinformed or misunderstood as Hogan was under the constant care of the Morton Plant Hospital in Florida, and the only change to his medication was following Hogan's neck surgery when his medication was altered to ensure it didn't affect his lungs.
Other sources of TMZ's close to Hogan's family denied "street drugs" contributed to his death. The family weren't annoyed at Flair as they know he was one of Hogan's close friends and didn't mean any harm by his comments.
Flair has responded to the report, tweeting: "Okay Sky! I Got Bad Information According To You. I Should Have Never Mentioned It. I Have Known Hogan Since 1979. Let’s Just Move Past This And Concentrate On His Legacy. Period, End Of Story. Let’s PRESERVE HIS LEGACY Rather Than Dwell On Any Negative Energy. I Repeat- Hulkamania Forever!"
Flair claimed during an interview with Doubl3 Coverage that he spoke to Hogan the day before he passed away and "what killed him was street drugs."
"I talked to him the day before he died. I shouldn't say this, but what killed him was street drugs. When the doctor wouldn't prescribe him anymore, he was in so much pain, and he had neck surgery and got infected. Back in the hospital, ten back surgeries, two knees, two hips. When the doctor wouldn't prescribe him any more pain medicine, he just couldn't do it in all due conscience. They went and got their drugs out on the street. His body just said, 'You know what? Bingo. I can't do it anymore.' It's all going to come out in the media. In the next 30 days you'll read about it anyway," Flair said.
Hulk Hogan - real name Terry Bollea - passed away on July 24, 2025 following a heart attack. Hogan had suffered from health issues since undergoing neck fusion surgery in May, however, and it was claimed following Hogan's passing that his death may have been the result of medical malpractice as his phrenic nerve was allegedly severed during the surgery. The phrenic nerve controls the diaphragm and is essential to a human's ability to breathe.
