I Quit Match Set For NJPW Wrestle Grand Slam In MetLife Dome

An I Quit Match in NJPW!

New Japan Pro-Wrestling has added a No-DQ I Quit Match to the Wrestle Grand Slam in MetLife Dome card following a fan vote.

As usual with KOPW 2021 Trophy matches, Chase Owens and Toru Yano pitched their stipulations. The Bullet Club man selected a Texas Strap Match while The Sublime Master Thief proposed a No-DQ I Quit Match.

Toru Yano's stipulation was very popular and he received 75.47 percent of the 17,598 votes. Chase Owens only received 4,316 votes which amounted to 24.53 percent.

Similar to past I Quit Matches, there will be no pinfalls or disqualifications and the only way to win is by making your opponent verbally quit. Owens and Yano will face off on night one of Wrestle Grand Slam in MetLife Dome on September 4.

An IWGP United States Heavyweight Title match between Hiroshi Tanahashi and Kota Ibushi was also recently added to the MetLife Dome card. Check out the announced matches below:

  • Hiroshi Tanahashi (c) vs. Kota Ibushi - IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship
  • Kazuchika Okada vs. Jeff Cobb
