IMPACT Knockouts Championship Match Announced For Bound For Glory 2021

Mickie James will challenge Deonna Purrazzo

A dream match months in the making has finally been confirmed as Deonna Purrazzo will defend her IMPACT Knockouts Championship against Mickie James at IMPACT Bound For Glory 2021.

Tensions have been building between James and Purrazzo in the last few months, with the former 'Hardcore Country' arriving at IMPACT Wrestling on Thursday 23 September in order to set things straight with the reigning IMPACT Knockouts Champion. She explained that she had her eyes on the Title she has held three times previously, and challenged Purrazzo to a match at Bound For Glory next month.

Purrazzo declined the challenge, saying fighting James does nothing for her and that Championship matches are earned, not given. The two then started brawling, leading to IMPACT executive Scott D'Amore coming out to the ring. D'Amore said that James had already earned the right to any match she wants, and made their Title bout for Bound For Glory official.

The issues between the two started a number of weeks ago, when James attacked The Virtuosa following her rude response to James' invite to be at NWA EmPowerrr. Purrazzo would then respond by attacking James at NWA 73.

Bound For Glory 2021 will be presented by IMPACT Wrestling on Saturday 23 October from Sam's Town in Las Vegas, Nevada.
