In lieu of the traditional show, the December 23 episode of IMPACT Wrestling saw the promotion kick off two weeks of reviewing and considering the year that had just gone.

2021 was a huge year for IMPACT Wrestling and, presented by Josh Matthews and IMPACT Executive Scott D'Amore, the two hosts invited viewers to look back at some of the classic matches from the last 12 months while also revealing the winners of the End Of 2021 Awards.

The show began with a look back at the six-man tag-team match which put Kenny Omega and The Good Brothers against Rich Swann, Chris Sabin and Moose at IMPACT Hard To Kill before considering some of the names that joined or returned to the IMPACT Zone in the last year.

After a look back at the IMPACT World Tag Team Title match between The Good Brothers and FinJuice at Rebellion, the announcement was made that The Good Brothers are the winners of the Men's Tag Team Of The Year 2021 Award.

The review program then considered Kenny Omega defeating Rich Swann in the Winner-Takes-All Champion vs. Champion match at Rebellion, and the return of Mickie James and her win over Deonna Purrazzo to claim the Knockouts Championship at Bound For Glory.

After a look back at Josh Alexander's rise to the top of IMPACT Wrestling, including winning the X-Division Title at Rebellion and the IMPACT World Title at Bound For Glory, the promotion confirmed Deonna Purrazzo as the 2021 Knockout Of The Year.

Matthews and D'Amore would then confirm that next week's show would announce the winner of the Match Of The Year, The Knockouts Tag Team Of The Year and the Men's Wrestler Of The Year would be revealed on next week's show.

Part 1 of IMPACT Wrestling's 2021 review went off the air after a look back at Moose cashing in his 'Call Your Shot' Trophy to take the IMPACT World Championship off Josh Alexander.
