IMPACT Wrestling's Matt Cardona Out For 12 Weeks

The Broski has a fractured orbital bone

IMPACT Wrestling have announced that Matt Cardona will be out of action for around 12 weeks after an attack from Brian Myers on the May 20 edition of IMPACT.

Posting the news to Twitter, IMPACT followed up on a segment from IMPACT where Dr. Ross confirmed Cardona sustained the injury during a backstage attack from former tag partner Brian Myers, with the former Zack Ryder suffering an fracture to his orbital bone.

There’s no word on whether this is a legit injury or a kayfabe injury, but the evidence suggests it could be somewhere in between. If Cardona was fully healthy there’d be little reason to take him off of TV for several months, at the same time, the use of Dr. Ross and Gia Miller to announce the injury smacks of storyline.

Regardless, it’ll be interesting to see how this plays out, and if Cardona will don a Phantom of the Opera style mask when he returns a la The Undertaker in 1995.
