IMPACT Wrestling World Championship Match Set For Slammiversary 2020

Who will be the mystery opponent...

The main event of Slammiversary 2020 was thrown into turmoil last week after IMPACT Wrestling announced Michael Elgin would not appear in any future programming and fired world champion Tessa Blanchard.

The match was originally booked as a Five-Way between Blanchard, Elgin, Ace Austin, Trey and Eddie Edwards. Josh Matthews announced on last night's episode of IMPACT! that Austin, Edwards and Trey will retain their spots in the match and battle it out alongside a mystery opponent for the vacant world title on July 18.

Who the mystery opponent will be remains to be seen but IMPACT has teased the return of Ethan Carter III and Eric Young in recent weeks.

The company also announced The North will defend the IMPACT Wrestling World Tag Team Titles against Ken Shamrock and Sami Callihan at the pay-per-view.
