Following a well-received show over WrestleMania 39 weekend, IMPACT Wrestling and New Japan Pro-Wrestling came together again for Multiverse United 2, with the event emanating from the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Sunday, August 20.
The show featured three title matches, including a main event of Alex Shelley vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi for the IMPACT World Championship and a Four-Way that saw Giulia put the NJPW STRONG Women's Title on the line against Deonna Purrazzo, Gisele Shaw, and Momo Kohgo.
