Injured WWE Star Returns To The Ring On SmackDown Next Week

A superstar returns from injury next week on WWE SmackDown

Dakota Kai has been out of the ring since all the way back in May of last year, suffering from a torn ACL that ruled her out of action indefinitely. She returned to television alongside Damage CTRL during the summer last year, but was not physically involved in angles or matches, acting as a supporter at ringside or on the mic.

In recent weeks, with Bayley leaving the faction and targeting Iyo Sky’s WWE Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 40, Kai has gotten herself back involved in things. She initially saved Bayley from an attack by Damage CTRL with a steel chair, and was then supposedly attacked on last night’s SmackDown by the members of the group too, though there was notably zero evidence of this.

It was announced shortly after that on next week’s SmackDown, Dakota Kai would return to the ring to team with Bayley to take on the Damage CTRL duo of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Asuka & Kairi Sane.

It remains to be seen if Kai’s loyalties do really side with Bayley, or whether this is all a ruse from Kai and Damage CTRL.
