Deadline had been established as WWE NXT's major event to be held in December but that won't be the case in 2026 as WWE announced at Halloween Havoc that NXT TLC would emanate from the WWE Performance Center on Saturday, December 12.
The Deadline events, introduced in 2022, had been built around the Iron Survivor Challenge matches consisting of a 25-minute match with five wrestlers entering at five-minute intervals. Wrestlers earn points via pinfall, submission, or being the victim of a DQ, with the wrestler on the losing side of the fall spending 90 seconds in the penalty box. The wrestler with the most points wins the match as the Iron Survivor and typically receives a future shot at the NXT Championship or NXT Women's Championship.
With no Deadline on the calendar for 2026, speculation has been fuelled about the future of the Iron Survivor Challenge. WrestleVotes on Fightful Select has reported that the match has been discussed in the past for a move to the WWE main roster, although it is unknown if that possibility is now more likely with TLC's replacement of NXT Deadline. It was noted by one WWE source, though, that the match could work for a few current WWE programmes, including the WWE Title picture on SmackDown.
The last stipulation match to move from NXT to the main roster was WarGames, with the Match Beyond since becoming a staple of Survivor Series since 2022.
Past winners of the Iron Survivor Challenge include Grayson Waller, Roxanne Perez, Blair Davenport, Trick Williams, Oba Femi, Giulia, Je'Von Evans, and Kendal Grey.
