WWE Planning To Celebrate 30-Year Anniversary Of The Rock's Debut

Hopefully it's better than the big egg from five years ago...

The 30-year anniversary of Dwayne Johnson's WWE debut at Survivor Series 1996 as Rocky Maivia is a couple of weeks away and plans are underway within WWE to celebrate the moment.

According to WrestleVotes on Fightful Select, WWE will honour The Rock's debut anniversary with several lines of merchandise, which will include a commemorative title belt. The company will also run social media campaigns to celebrate 30 years of The Rock.

Whether or not WWE will directly honour The Rock at Survivor Series 2026 is unknown but the company have done so in the past, infamously celebrating the 25-year anniversary of The Rock's debut at Survivor Series 2021.

That event, which did not feature an appearance from The Rock, instead included a tie-in with "Red Notice", Dwayne Johnson's latest movie at the time, which saw Vince McMahon be presented with a Cleopatra egg. The egg was then stolen by Austin Theory and resulted in Theory becoming Vince McMahon's protege.

There was also The Rock's 25th Anniversary Battle Royal at Survivor Series, again for a man not at the event, which was won by Omos. The match primarily centred around a Pizza Hut sponsorship deal and The Street Profits throwing around that pizza.

While he hasn't wrestled since WrestleMania 40 and hasn't appeared on WWE programming since Elimination Chamber 2025, The Rock remains involved with the company through his seat on the TKO Board of Directors. Dwayne Johnson was at the centre of discourse within WWE recently, though, due to him praising Tony Khan while paying tribute to PAC in a short Instagram video. Three weeks after the short video, it was still being discussed within WWE.
