Oct 16, 2023
Jade Cargill has taken ownership of her name when it comes to professional wrestling.
It is common practice for WWE to own the trademarks to their talent's names, a practice which meant Edge had to become Adam Copeland when he signed with All Elite Wrestling. Jade Cargill won't suffer from any such issues, though, as along with it being her real name, Cargill has moved to trademark her name for merchandise and pro wrestling purposes.
The filing states:
"IC 025. US 022 039. G & S: Bandanas; Hats; Leggings; Socks; Shirts and short-sleeved shirts; Sweatshirts; Hooded sweatshirts
"IC 028. US 022 023 038 050. G & S: Action figure toys; Action figures; Action figures and accessories therefor; Toy action figures. FIRST USE: 20220517. FIRST USE IN COMMERCE: 20220517
"IC 041. US 100 101 107. G & S: Entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests; Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibits and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer; Entertainment services, namely, live appearances by a professional wrestler and sports entertainer; Entertainment services, namely, personal appearances by a professional wrestler and sports entertainer; Entertainment services, namely, televised appearances by a professional wrestler and sports entertainer; Providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; Providing online interviews featuring professional wrestler and sports entertainer in the field of professional wrestling and sports entertainment for entertainment purposes. FIRST USE: 20201120. FIRST USE IN COMMERCE: 20201120"
Cargill officially signed with WWE on September 26 after three years with All Elite Wrestling. The former TBS Champion has made multiple appearances across SmackDown, NXT, and WWE pay-per-views. She has yet to make her in-ring debut.
