Jade Cargill Reveals Cody Rhodes Was A Key Reason She Signed With WWE

Cody Rhodes was instrumental in convincing Jade Cargill to jump from All Elite Wrestling to WWE. 

Speaking with ESPN, Cargill revealed that Rhodes was one of the top two reasons behind her decision to sign with WWE. 

"Top three reasons and [Cody Rhodes] was top two. Cody is a phenomenal wrestler. He's a phenomenal father. He's very honest, even when he has to get brutal with it. I respect Cody. I respect him trusting the system. And when I first came in [to AEW], he was one of the few people that sat me down and was honest with me about this entire industry, and I appreciated that. So one thing I'm not gonna do is let him down. I'ma come in here and do the work and show him why I'm a great pick," Cargill said.

Cargill and Cody Rhodes have been linked in pro wrestling for several years, with Cargill training at Cody's Nightmare Factory before she signed with All Elite Wrestling. When she did debut on AEW TV in November 2020, Cargill went straight into a feud with Cody and the Nightmare Family that led to Cargill and Shaquille O'Neal taking on Cody and Red Velvet in Cargill's in-ring debut.

Following the expiry of her AEW contract on September 15, Jade Cargill officially signed with WWE on Tuesday, September 26.
